We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to join our team in Spencer, Indiana. In this role, you will support and lead initiatives that provide daily support for products, processes, materials and equipment while helping drive production goals, including safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity. You will partner cross-functionally to evaluate, troubleshoot and implement manufacturing processes within the business unit.
Work model, sponsorship, relocationThis role is fully on-site and requires employees to work from our Spencer, Indiana, facility. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.
Your Responsibilities Will Include- Monitor equipment, machines and tools to correct equipment issues and identify process gaps contributing to nonconforming parts, low yields or product quality concerns.
- Troubleshoot new and existing product and process issues related to design, materials or manufacturing methods.
- Support business goals and product performance by utilizing tools such as process capability studies, process development methodologies, Six Sigma and value improvement projects, report preparation, and process and test documentation.
- Summarize, analyze and draw conclusions from test results to drive data-based decisions.
- Identify, implement and manage equipment requirements to support production goals.
- Collaborate with research and development, process development, quality, production, regulatory, equipment engineering, supply chain and marketing to ensure project success.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably manufacturing, electrical, biomedical or mechanical engineering.
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering and problem-solving principles, data analysis and production flow tools such as Lean manufacturing.
- Ability to develop creative solutions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated initiative to identify, prioritize, communicate and execute improvement opportunities.
- Internship or other applicable experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the medical device industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and present ideas using visual communication methods.
- Experience troubleshooting, analyzing and repairing equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement initiatives.

Maximum Salary: $108,500
The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see —will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
