Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Electrical Engineer for a large and well-established energy sector client. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to complex substation projects that enhance system reliability, optimize asset performance, and support long-term infrastructure strategy. The Electrical Engineer will play a key role in engineering design, cost analysis, construction coordination, and research initiatives within a highly structured and technically advanced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design electric substation facilities and prepare detailed engineering work orders.
  • Develop project cost estimates and support capital budgeting activities.
  • Finalize project scope descriptions, manpower requirements, and engineering documentation.
  • Manage assigned projects to meet established schedules and budget targets.
  • Maintain and update project data within SAP systems.
  • Interface with inspectors, engineers, construction personnel, warehousing teams, purchasing agents, vendors, and management regarding substation reliability, inspection technologies, and rehabilitation initiatives.
  • Support construction activities by providing technical guidance and resolving field issues.
  • Recommend and coordinate research and development projects, including preparation of RFPs, evaluation of contractor bids, and review of contract terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations to management regarding project updates and technical findings.
  • Participate in after-hours emergency response as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a related engineering field.
  • Master of Science in Engineering may substitute for one year of professional experience.
  • Experience in substation design, power systems, or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or computer-aided drafting tools.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using SAP and GIS systems.
  • Ability to perform advanced mathematical computations including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus for engineering and economic analyses.
  • Experience preparing cost estimates and technical project documentation.
