Job OverviewSchaffner as a part of TE Connectivity is the global leader in EMC filter design. For our competence center in Luterbach, we are searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d) to strengthen our design team.
- Drive Innovation: Support the design and development of next-generation EMC filtering solutions
- Concept-to-Market: Bridge cutting‑edge ideas from research to commercial products through Product Engineering focus
- Advanced Technology: Apply state‑of‑the‑art tools and use emerging technologies to design next‑generation EMC filters
- Creative Problem‑Solving: Contribute to game‑changing concepts and out‑of‑the‑box innovations
- Technical Customer Support: Provide technical support and solutions to our service team for complex customer challenges and critical inquiries
- Create, evaluate, and optimize concept studies and designs, including calculations and analyses to meet given target specifications
- Evaluate next generation materials and processes for optimized design and assembly
- Create next generation concepts and designs of mature components
- Shape filter designs for optimized manufacturing, costs, quality, and standardization
- Create and review technical specifications, documentations, and qualification plans
- Communicate proactively within the project teams and other stakeholders
- Support the project team for comprehensive validation and qualification testing to ensure robust, market‑ready solutions
- Keep compliance with norms and standards
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics/ Polymer Engineering, or a comparable field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design or product development, ideally in industrial electronics or mechanical engineering
- Strong knowledge of metal and plastic materials and related manufacturing technologies (e.g., injection molding) from idea to industrialization
- Experience in designing industrial electronic/electrical equipment
- Proficiency in 3D CAD and PDM systems
- Basic knowledge of SAP
- Excellent analytical ability, problem‑solving, and comprehensive troubleshooting skills
- Skilled in multitasking, stakeholder communication, and motivation to understand production philosophies and optimize designs
- Fluent in English and German in word and writing
