POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Diversified Energy is currently hiring a Regulatory Specialist specializing in Pennsylvania and Northern Appalachia. This position is to be located in our Indiana Pennsylvania office and is responsible for leading our plugging compliance efforts in Northern Appalachia. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of hands‑on experience with regulatory efforts in Appalachia in specific Pennsylvania and will report to our Regulatory VP.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Compliance with ESCGP and E&S plan implementation and monitoring
  • Point of contact for regulatory agencies regarding site status and compliance documentation
  • 24 rain event inspections and documentation
  • Schedule and maintain compliance with COWP, WSRR, Site closure and Landowner Waiver agreements, extension requests, on site coordination with Regulatory Agencies
  • Correspondence with agencies in regard to plugging NOVs and Inspections with Recommendations

This position is to be primarily field based with office responsibilities as needed. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of success in the above‑mentioned areas of expertise and the Oil and Gas Act, Act 13, Chapter 78/78a and Chapter 102 and 105 as well as ESCGP 1-4 permits. Candidate will also have a proven track record of success with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and other agencies as appropriate.

  • Proactively leads in prioritizing and bringing to completion multiple concurrent projects;
  • Actively influences others to verify all possibilities have been thoroughly and effectively evaluated for optimum results.
  • Actively collaborates with operational and EH&S teams to effectively meet area and Next LvL personnel.
  • Assesses operations for compliance with EH&S rules, regulations, policy, and laws.
  • Develops effective solutions and implements in concert with operations.
  • Proactively anticipates developing regulations and their potential effects on the business.
  • Actively encourages others to provide input to ensure all possibilities have been thoroughly evaluated for optimum project results.
  • Possesses decision making and problem‑solving skills with industry experience.
  • Diagnoses and recommends solutions to strategic issues.
  • Identifies potential high‑risk situations and offers management optimal solution to minimize company exposure and maximize results.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Health, Safety, or related discipline is strongly preferred.
  • More than 5 years of progressively more responsible positions within the oil and gas exploration and production industry.
  • Oil and gas operations and implications for compliance with environmental, health and safety laws.
  • Project management skills.
  • EH&S statistics including occupational injury recordkeeping
  • Business implications of EH&S issues
  • Strong working knowledge of Power BI and other MS Data tools
  • Presentations and training experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to move or traverse from one location on the job site to another. This includes the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, frequently positioning oneself (e.g., to stoop, kneel, or squat) to perform tasks, and occasionally ascend/descend (e.g., ladders or uneven terrain)
