Transmission Line Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to support large-scale transmission infrastructure projects for a major utility client. This individual will play a key role in the design, engineering, and execution of overhead transmission line projects while supporting cross-functional engineering, project management, and construction teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong utility transmission experience, excellent technical knowledge, and the ability to support projects from conceptual engineering through detailed design and construction support.

• Minimum 3+ years of direct utility experience required
• Experience supporting overhead AND/OR underground transmission line projects within utility environments
• Strong understanding of transmission line design standards and engineering practices
• Experience supporting projects through full engineering lifecycle
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams, project managers, construction teams, and utility leadership
• Experience coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
• Knowledge of utility safety standards and industry regulations
• Ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously

• Perform engineering and design support for transmission line projects
• Support projects from conceptual development through detailed engineering and construction
• Prepare and review transmission line design packages, calculations, and technical documentation
• Coordinate with project management, construction, permitting, and environmental teams
• Support material selection and procurement activities
• Provide technical support during construction and field execution
• Review engineering deliverables for quality, compliance, and constructability
• Assist with project schedules, forecasting, and engineering coordination
• Ensure compliance with utility standards, NESC requirements, and client specifications
• Participate in project meetings and communicate project updates to leadership teams

• Experience with transmission voltages ranging from 69kV to 500kV+
• Utility owner/operator experience strongly preferred
• Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, or related transmission engineering software
• Knowledge of structural loading, line routing, sag/tension, and foundation design coordination
• Experience supporting EPC or capital transmission programs
• PE license preferred but not required

This individual is proactive, technically strong, and capable of supporting complex transmission engineering programs within fast-paced utility environments. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of transmission infrastructure, utility engineering standards, and cross-functional project coordination.
