The “Laser Tech.” Group of our “Instrumentation” Business Unit, based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland is looking for a R&D Engineer for laser technologies.
Your missionWith your extensive knowledge of laser technologies, ranging from mode-locked to stabilized continuous-wave lasers based on fiber, solid-state and semi-conductor technologies, you will significantly contribute to the development of industrial and academic projects in the field of optical atomic clocks, space technologies and laser-based instrumentation.
Your responsibilities- Execute technical tasks vital to the success of our diverse projects
- Build, optimize and characterize lasers sources, mode-locked lasers, optical frequency combs, stabilized lasers and optical amplifiers
- Lead the assembly and characterization of laser-based prototypes
- Research and develop new laser architectures
- Take part in the execution of laser-based metrology projects
Know-how
You are a motivated Engineer with either a MS or a PhD in Physics or a relevant domain with a proven experience in a similar field. Working in a multidisciplinary team has been one of your motivations. In addition, you bring the following knowledge:
- Lasers and laser-based systems
- Laser characterization
- Laser stabilization and metrology
- Atomic clocks
- Nonlinear optics
- Time & frequency metrology
- Optical spectroscopy
- Open-minded attitude, proactive and considered as a creative thinker
- Natural curiosity that enables you to work on multidisciplinary projects
- Team player with an excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact constructively with our colleagues and partners
- Fluency in English, French or German would be an asset
