- The Electrical Operations Engineer supports the full lifecycle of critical electrical systems across Micron manufacturing facilities.
- This role begins with a structured assignment supporting Construction Engineering through design review, constructability validation, and commissioning.
- Following construction support, the position transitions into operations ownership, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant performance of electrical distribution and control systems.
- The engineer collaborates with cross‑functional partners to maintain system uptime, drive reliability improvements, and support long‑term facility performance.
- Review electrical design documents, support design coordination activities, and assess constructability and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Participate in submittal reviews, RFIs, system inspections, and commissioning activities to verify installation quality and system functionality.
- Perform and interpret electrical calculations including load flow, fault current, and arc flash studies using industry‑standard tools.
- Transition into system ownership post‑construction, managing electrical distribution equipment, motor control systems, UPS systems, generators, and backup power infrastructure.
- Conduct root‑cause analyses for electrical events, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain documentation accuracy using engineering tools and support training for maintenance and operations personnel.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and Micron safety requirements across all operational activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3–5 years of electrical engineering experience supporting design, construction, or operations.
- Knowledge of power distribution systems, MCCs, VFDs, and emergency/backup systems.
- Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and NETA testing practices.
- Proficiency in electrical modeling tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM) and BIM platforms (e.g., Revit, Navisworks).
- Experience in high‑reliability or mission‑critical facilities (e.g., semiconductor, pharmaceutical, data centers).
- Exposure to electrical system cybersecurity frameworks such as IEC 62443.
- Understanding of IoT, smart‑grid technologies, or Industry 4.0 electrical applications.
- Experience leading or mentoring operations or maintenance personnel.
