RF Test Systems Architect and Lab Manager

Tagore Tech is pioneering a new semiconductor process that enables high RF power at competitive price points. We are a fabless semiconductor company with design centers in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Our R&D team is dedicated to developing disruptive solutions leveraging wide bandgap technologies that address RF design challenges and accelerate time- to-market for a wide range of applications, from 5G cellular infrastructure to consumer electronics, automotive, and defense and security.

Our high-power products, including RF switches, RF low-noise amplifiers, and RF power amplifiers, are essential for wireless infrastructure and high-power radios. We partner with leading semiconductor foundries and assembly houses to deliver products that offer premium quality and proven high reliability.

Overview

Tagore Tech is seeking an experienced RF Test Systems Architect and Lab Manager to join our team. The RF Test Systems Architect & Lab Manager is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining Tagore Tech’s RF test infrastructure across multiple labs for characterization, product development, reliability, and production engineering test. This leader owns the technical roadmap for RF test systems while managing day‑to‑day lab operations, equipment strategy, safety, and workflow efficiency.

The role is highly cross‑functional, supporting RF design, applications engineering, quality & reliability, supply chain, and program management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop the long‑term strategy for RF, power, and mixed‑signal test systems supporting GaN, GaAs, and advanced RF semiconductor products.
  • Architect automated test platforms for device characterization, validation, spec compliance campaigns, and production readiness.
  • Define instrumentation requirements (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, power meters, signal generators, high‑power RF sources, thermal chambers, various High-Power “RF Plumbing”).
  • Create scalable test methodologies for S‑parameters, power performance, linearity, efficiency, ruggedness, and reliability stress testing.
  • Lead integration of hardware, software, and data systems into cohesive automated test solutions.
  • Develop new test fixturing (PCBs, device test sockets, heat sinks, assembly fixturing).
  • Drive continuous improvement in test accuracy, repeatability, throughput, and cost.
  • Manage daily operations of Tagore Tech’s RF and device characterization labs, ensuring high availability and efficient workflow.
  • Oversee equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and vendor service coordination.
  • Implement and enforce lab safety protocols, ESD controls, RF exposure guidelines, and ISO
    9001‑aligned procedures.
  • Maintain lab infrastructure including benches, fixtures, RF shielding, thermal systems, and high‑power test environments.
  • Manage lab inventory, procurement, and asset tracking for instruments, fixtures, and consumables.
  • Lead technician teams, providing training, task prioritization, and performance oversight.
  • Maintain relationships with key RF equipment manufacturers and component suppliers.
  • Develop automated test scripts and frameworks (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, C#, or similar).
  • Implement data capture, storage, and analytics pipelines for high‑volume RF test data.
  • Ensure traceability, repeatability, and compliance with internal and external quality standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in RF test engineering, RF systems, or semiconductor device characterization.
  • Deep knowledge of RF measurement techniques, high‑power RF testing, and GaN device behavior. Experience with High-Power RF Amplifiers (control, thermal management, power dissipation)
  • Hands‑on experience with RF instrumentation and automated test systems.
  • Strong background in test automation software and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience managing labs, equipment, and technical staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with ISO
    9001 or similar quality systems.
  • Background in semiconductor reliability testing (HTOL, RF stress, thermal cycling).
  • Familiarity with production test…
