We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Automation Area Lead to take technical ownership of the control system solution for a pharmaceutical warehouse project, ensuring alignment with the program's automation philosophy, technical standards, and delivery objectives.
The role works closely with the Automation Project Manager, Automation Technical Lead, other Area Leads, Process Engineers, Quality, Operations, equipment vendors, and the System Integrator.
Key Responsibilities- Own the automation and control system solution for the warehouse area, from ISA-88 software structure through functional design and control strategy.
- Work with the System Integrator to finalize specifications and review deliverables for quality and consistency.
- Participate in P& control strategy reviews, and respond to technical queries from stakeholders.
- Support control system architecture, identify software gaps and technical risks, and drive remediation.
- Review vendor documentation for packaged and skid mounted equipment, ensuring proper incorporation into integration and validation deliverables.
- Track and resolve technical issues post software acceptance.
- Report progress, risks, and resource needs to the Automation Technical Lead.
- Maintain compliance with GMP, documentation, and training requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or equivalent.
- Strong automation engineering experience in pharma, including proven hands on with Allen-Bradley PLC.
- Strong background developing functional specs, control strategies, and working with System Integrators through design, testing, commissioning, and qualification.
- Solid understanding of ISA-88 principles, GMP, and computer system validation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills across cross functional teams.
- Experience in pharmaceutical warehouse or material handling automation.
- Experience with API or bulk pharma manufacturing projects.
- Experience integrating packaged/skid mounted equipment with plant automation systems.
