PDP- Automation Senior Engineer

Job Summary:

The Automation Support role is a core part of Bechtel’s engineering design and delivery for Projects’ completed deliverables. The candidate will develop and deploy work‑processes and ensure compliance with 3D CAD guidelines on a Project as required by the client or Bechtel. Responsibilities include verifying Project set‑up, coordinating customization, providing user support, and ensuring compliance with CAD standards. The candidate should have knowledge of engineering work‑processes, CAD tools such as S3D, Smart Sketch, Micro Station, AutoCAD, Windows operating systems, and review tools like Smart Plant Review and Navisworks.

• Coordinate with counterparts in other offices to transfer model data as per Project division of responsibility.
• Ensure conformity of drawings and reports, perform 3D model data quality checks, provide updates on CAD issues to the Project leadership team, troubleshoot user issues, and, when necessary, escalate CAD issues requiring additional help. Develop CAD instructions, suggest work‑process improvements, and implement lessons learned from previous Projects.
• Perform inter‑discipline coordination, manage interferences in the 3D model, integrate external 3D models into the existing CAD setup, facilitate client model reviews, implement Advanced Work Package (AWP), and support data exchanges with construction and start‑up.
• Apply EPC project experience and understand business requirements; understanding of multi‑discipline engineering work processes is an added advantage.

Engineering degree with 12+ years of experience, or diploma with 14+ years of industry experience from a reputed institute.

• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of applications for engineering and construction, particularly Piping discipline design requirements, industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, and codes.
• Proficiency with 3D/2D tools such as S3D, Plant 3D, AutoCAD, and Micro Station.
• Extensive experience in design and drafting, or specialized courses in drafting, design, engineering practices, and CAD.
• Awareness of ES&H and sustainability aspects.
