About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Senior DeltaV / Rockwell Automation Engineer to join our team in Indiana. This position is ideal for an experienced controls and automation professional with strong hands‑on expertise in Emerson DeltaV and Rockwell Automation platforms.
The successful candidate will lead and support automation projects from concept and design through implementation, commissioning, startup, and ongoing support. You will work closely with clients, project teams, and engineering disciplines to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient control systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the design, development, implementation, and commissioning of process control and automation systems.
- Develop, configure, troubleshoot, and support Emerson DeltaV DCS applications.
- Design, program, integrate, and troubleshoot Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley PLC systems.
- Develop and modify control strategies, sequence logic, HMI applications, alarms, graphics, and associated documentation.
- Participate in system architecture, I/O design, network configuration, control panel requirements, and automation specifications.
- Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities at customer sites.
- Review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior and mid-level automation engineers.
- Interface with clients to understand technical requirements and provide effective automation solutions.
- Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, process, mechanical, and project engineering teams.
- Troubleshoot complex control‑system issues and provide timely solutions.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including functional specifications, control narratives, I/O lists, cause-and-effect documentation, and test protocols.
- Support project estimating, scheduling, and technical planning as needed.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, cybersecurity, and industry best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial automation and process control.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS
. - Demonstrated experience with Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley PLCs
, including Control Logix and/or Compact Logix. - Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial communication networks.
- Experience with control system integration, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, control narratives, and instrumentation documentation.
- Strong understanding of process control principles and industrial automation practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel to customer and project sites as required.
- Experience working in pharmaceutical, life sciences, chemical, food & beverage, specialty chemical, or other process manufacturing environments.
- Experience integrating DeltaV with Rockwell PLC systems.
- Experience with batch processing and ISA‑88 concepts.
- Familiarity with ISA‑95, GAMP 5, or other regulated‑industry practices.
- Experience with system validation, commissioning, and qualification activities.
- Knowledge of industrial networking, including Ethernet/IP and other common automation protocols.
- Experience providing technical leadership on multidisciplinary engineering projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant industry certifications is a plus.
