Nucor Buildings Group is seeking a Structural Engineering Supervisor – Product Design to lead a technical team responsible for the development, evaluation, standardization, and continuous improvement of the structural products and systems used across our pre-engineered metal building business.

This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to expand their impact beyond individual project design. You’ll coach and develop technical teammates, guide structural engineering decisions, influence product strategy, and collaborate across multiple Nucor Buildings Group divisions to improve the products, tools, and standards used by engineering and manufacturing teams every day.

If you have a strong background in structural steel, PEMB systems, building codes, connections, secondary framing, or metal building design and enjoy helping other engineers grow, this could be the leadership opportunity you’ve been looking for.

• Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and technical direction to the Product Design Team.
• Help engineers and technical teammates grow their capabilities, solve complex problems, and realize their full potential.
• Establish priorities for the team and ensure resources are focused on product improvements that create meaningful value for customers, engineering teams, and manufacturing operations.
• Create an environment that encourages collaboration, continuous improvement, technical excellence, and ownership.

• Lead the technical evaluation of pre-engineered metal building structural systems
  , including primary framing, secondary structural members, connections, cladding systems, foundation interfaces, and ancillary components.
• Apply knowledge of structural steel design, building codes, loading requirements, and industry standards to guide product development and improvement decisions.
• Evaluate existing products and systems for opportunities to improve structural performance, constructability, manufacturability, cost, and efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance related to design issues, code changes, manufacturing concerns, field conditions, and product performance.
