- Become proficient in policy rerating tools to generate estimated quotes for BOP and other small business commercial lines.
- Acquire understanding of internal and external data sources pertinent to insurance policy rating and their respective limitations.
- Suggest methodologies for estimating policy characteristics when verified data is unavailable.
- Investigate new data sources, noting their contents and limitations, and document findings.
- Maintain communication with business partners to understand their requirements and expectations.
- 3-5 or more years of P&C actuarial experience
- Robust SQL experience; strong SAS experience a plus
- Proficient in Excel VBA
- Basic Python a plus; specifically, pandas/Num Py and Excel/file system manipulation-Well versed in one or more statistical programming software like R or Python
