IRMC is seeking a Certified Physician Assistant for our Pulmonology Department.
RESPONSIBILITYMinimum Education Required
The Physician Assistant (PA) shall have the knowledge and competency to perform the following functions:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Graduation from an accredited AMA Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAAHEP)–approved program.
- Certification by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Physician Assistant.
- Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Maintains current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification — required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
- Must be Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtain certification within one (1) month of hire.
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
- Maintains hearing and visual acuity necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Adheres to the responsibilities and scope of practice of the Physician Assistant profession in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Meets criteria for Allied Health Professional status at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
- Prior experience as a Physician Assistant, RN, or equivalent clinical role.
- Experience utilizing telehealth equipment and processes.
