Job Description
  • Participating in teaching and rehabilitation of the patient.
  • Coordinating discharge planning in conjunction with other members of the health team.
  • Directing and assisting with the Licensed Practical Nurse, Nursing Assistant, or technician in rendering care to patients.
  • Working collaboratively with all members of the patient care team and providing leadership so that standards of professional nursing practice are maintained in a clinical setting.
  • Demonstrating ability to function as a charge nurse as assigned.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the span of life.
  • Identifying each patient’s age‐specific needs and providing appropriate care for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, or adult patient and must be able to fulfill the department’s call time requirements.
  • Able to float to various nursing departments, not limited to inpatient, rehab, intensive care, and emergency department.
  • Able to understand the principles of aseptic technique and sterility.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Experience: One year of experience as a Registered Nurse required, 2‑5 years preferred; critical care experience preferred
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire
    • ACLS, moderate sedation, basic dysrhythmia course, critical care required (or obtained within 6 months of hire)
    • PALS preferred
    • Chemo Therapy preferred
    • Rehab Care – UDS Credentialing preferred
    • Eight (8) hours of approved trauma education per year required
    • Trauma Nurse Course Completion within 1 year of hire or 6 months of transfer
  • Shift – Rotation
