About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support our manufacturing facility in Wolcott, IN. This role is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day human resources activities while serving as a strategic partner to the Plant Manager and Site Leadership Team. The HR Generalist plays a critical role in employee relations, talent acquisition, compliance, and organizational development, helping drive business objectives through effective HR practices.
This position is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, is comfortable with ambiguity, and enjoys being hands‑on while leading change initiatives.

- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns
- Address and resolve employee relations issues in a timely, professional manner
- Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate corrective actions
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies to attract qualified talent
- Manage the full hiring process, including job postings, resume screening, interviews, and offer management
- Partner with department leaders to understand current and future staffing needs
- Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs
- Facilitate onboarding and new hire orientation
- Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements
- Drive the performance management process for plant personnel
- Coach managers on goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback conversations
- Support performance improvement plans and corrective action processes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Prepare HR metrics, reports, and compliance documentation
- Administer compensation and benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans
- Conduct salary benchmarking and recommend competitive adjustments
- Partner with safety leaders to promote a safe work environment
- Support OSHA compliance and safety training initiatives
- Manage workers’ compensation claims and return‑to‑work programs
- Lead or support HR initiatives focused on engagement, culture, and process improvement
- Assist with policy development and implementation
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment (5+ years preferred)
- PHR or SHRM‑CP certification strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Comfortable navigating change and shifting priorities
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills
