As a Manager in Life Sciences Commercial Analytics, you will lead work streams that address real world commercial challenges across brand, field, patient, and omnichannel domains. You will own end to end delivery of analytic programs, guide teams in structuring complex analysis, and partner with senior commercial stakeholders to shape data driven decision making across the drug lifecycle.
This role requires someone who can translate business needs into analytical frameworks, ensure quality execution, and influence commercial strategy through insight driven recommendations. You will combine hands on expertise with the ability to coach, review, and elevate the work of junior team members.
- Lead Core Commercial Analytics Programs
- Oversee analysis using syndicated datasets (e.g., IQVIA DDD/LRx/NPA/Xponent, longitudinal claims, SP data) and internal CRM/digital sources to address brand critical questions.
- Direct analytic work across the commercial value chain, including:
- Patient journey analytics (diagnosis → adherence → drop off).
- Sales & performance deep dives (volume drivers, payer impact, NBRx dynamics).
- Field force analytics (call plan design, target optimization, engagement triggers).
- Omnichannel analytics (channel performance, sequencing, promotional mix).
- Review and refine insights, ensuring outputs translate data signals into clear commercial narratives that inform brand strategy and tactical planning.
- Own Measurement Strategy & KPI Frameworks
- Design and evolve KPI frameworks tailored to brand maturity, therapeutic areas, and commercial models.
- Define multi channel attribution logic and field–digital orchestration frameworks.
- Develop scalable analytic assets and accelerators reusable across brands and therapy areas.
- Oversee Data Quality & Analytics Operations
- Lead processes to validate data integrity (lags, panel shifts, payer mix changes).
- Ensure teams understand nuances of specialty distribution, hub models, and channel leakage to maintain analytic accuracy.
- Partner with data engineering to shape data structures that align with the commercial ecosystem (HCP–Account–Payer–Patient linkages).
- Stakeholder Management & Commercial Partnership
- Serve as a strategic analytics partner to Brand Leads, Commercial Excellence, Sales Leadership, Omnichannel, and Market Access teams.
- Influence brand planning by delivering insights that shape forecasts, targeting, messaging, and omnichannel execution.
- Guide creation of dashboards and executive ready presentations tailored to diverse audiences (Brand, Field, Leadership).
- Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Coach Senior Consultants/Analysts, review deliverables, and ensure analytical rigor.
- Help build team capability across domains such as claims analytics, segmentation, omnichannel, and forecasting.
- Drive continuous improvement in methodology, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement.
Desired Skills & Experience
- 9–12 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Commercial Analytics, ideally supporting biopharma brands or commercial functions.
- Deep expertise with industry datasets:
- IQVIA:
Xponent, DDD, NPA, NSP, LAAD, LRx - Claims data (Komodo/DRG/Truven/IQVIA/LAAD)
- Specialty pharmacy/HUB data
- Veeva CRM & digital interaction data
- IQVIA:
- Proficiency in multiple analytic domains, such as:
- Patient journey & claims analytics
- Segmentation & targeting
- Field performance analytics
- Sales forecasting & demand planning
- Omnichannel & campaign analytics
- Incentive compensation
- Strong technical skills: SQL or Python/R for data transformation;
Tableau/Power BI preferred. - Ability to translate analytics into actionable commercial recommendations.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercial models, payer dynamics, promotional constraints, and therapeutic category nuances.
- Demonstrated ability to lead without detailed direction, manage ambiguous environments, and influence senior stakeholders.
