Business Analyst
This is a business analyst role whose primary responsibilities are to review business processes and provide production line support for the SCADA platform. Candidate will need to gain a complete understanding of current procedures, identify improvements, redesign business processes, and create alignment with business users to apply technology ensuring excellent results. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must have a strong working relationship with all levels within Plant operations.
They will need to effectively communicate with the front-line workers to understand how and why they are doing the tasks they are doing. In addition, they will need to develop a general understanding of how the different PLCs work together to form the manufacturing line. All this information will lead to the necessary understanding of how to enhance the current SCADA platform with data collection, reporting, and automation opportunities.
Strategy & Planning:
Meet with business partners to determine business, functional and technical requirements and participate in application design, configuration, testing and deployment. Apply best practices and design patterns of best-of-breed applications developed on the various operational platforms. Guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternatives and on the implications of new or revised processing analysis.
Acquisition & Deployment:
Implement customer-focused solutions and develop features and integration for a suite of production applications. The ability to leverage data analysis tools like SQL, Excel, Crystal Reports, Power BI (Business Intelligence), and SSRS will also be critical. Plan phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for various projects. Perform administrative functions such as user creation, security management, configuration, and other customizations of the applications need to keep the systems optimally configured.
Operational Management:
Identify business trends using real data and compile analysis reports delivered to business partners. Proactively engage in continuous improvement efforts for application design, support, and practice development efforts. Provide technical assistance and end user troubleshooting for bug fixes, enhancements, and how-to assistance. Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage the various systems and products. Utilize best practices to perform operational support, code enhancements, bug fixes as needed to the suite of Operations applications Willing to be hands-on in producing tangible deliverables (requirements specifications, design deliverables, coding, unit testing, status reports, project plans)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Process Management, or equivalent experience. Proficiency with business analysis technics including modeling business processes, documentation skills, conducting workshops, and training sessions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects. Direct experience working on projects for middle market and enterprise size companies.
