Transportation Specialist, Relay Ops

Overview

The Transportation Specialist acts as the primary interface between Amazon and external stakeholder partners such as carriers and transporters. As a Trans Rep at RO, you facilitate flow of information between stakeholders (Carriers, Hubs, Warehouses) and resolve issues that impact customer experience and business continuity. Specialists identify concerns, troubleshoot delivery partner issues, and provide process‑improvement suggestions.

The role provides timely resolution by researching and querying internal tools, making real‑time decisions, and driving Customer Experience with out compromising deadlines. Candidates must have a basic understanding of logistics, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to analyze data and notice trends. They should ideate process improvements and lead a team of L2s during shifts, displaying leadership to drive outcomes.

• Communicate with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Business, Planning, Fulfillment Centers, Sort Centers, Delivery stations) regarding ad‑hoc requests, cancellations, delays, or other disruptions in the transportation network.
• Systematically raise and track escalations for problems or variances in information and data, ensuring resolutions are delivered.
• Pull data from databases using Excel, Access, SQL, or other data‑management systems; perform ad‑hoc reporting and analysis and develop performance metrics to drive business results.
• Effectively communicate in a clear and professional manner, quickly understanding business impact of trends and making decisions based on available data.
• Demonstrate excellent time‑management by delivering real‑time customer experience in a fast‑paced environment, meeting critical business needs while measuring and identifying performed activities.
• Maintain outstanding verbal and written communication, creating narratives that outline weekly findings.

The RO (Relay Operations) team is the central command and control center for Transportation Execution across Amazon’s Supply Chain network supporting India operations. It handles the network from First Mile to Last Mile Delivery Stations, resolving exceptions and keeping stakeholders informed. The team also performs tactical problem‑solving and monitors network trends to automate processes or propose changes, streamlining operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field such as computer science, engineering, or statistics.
• Experience with Excel.

• Experience with SQL.
