Position SummaryAs a Network Operations Center (NOC) Systems Engineer, you will monitor production environments, analyze and resolve Level‑1 and Level‑2 issues related to on‑premises and Google Cloud hosted applications and batch jobs. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve NOC procedures, build automation, train peers, and lead a team of engineers to maintain system health.
Responsibilities- Review and understand application architecture in hybrid cloud environments.
- Create and implement Level‑1 and Level‑2 production issue resolution processes for applications and services.
- Provide support and maintain system health for servers running RHEL, CENTOS, Solaris, and AIX on physical and virtual infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and remediate system‑related issues and collaborate with other IT functional areas to resolve them.
- Configure and support middleware applications such as Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, and content‑management platforms.
- Develop and modify scripts or Ansible playbooks for automation.
- Handle end‑user incidents while adhering to SLA for resolution.
- Participate in periodic disaster‑recovery exercises for Unix/Linux systems.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities.
- Work in 24/7 shifts to monitor batch jobs and applications in production.
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies to continuously improve NOC operations.
- Train team members on resolving infrastructure alerts and issues.
- Experience with mainframes and database technologies.
- Working knowledge of enterprise server operating systems such as RHEL 6/7/8.
- Experience with operational support and problem resolution for Unix/Linux‑based systems.
- Moderate fluency in at least one scripting language such as Bash.
- Experience programming with Java for automation and application issue resolution.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, traffic analysis, common protocols, and diagnostics.
- Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Git, Jenkins, Ansible, or Puppet.
- Familiarity with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience using Postman and understanding of microservices architecture.
- Experience troubleshooting with Dynatrace.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross‑functional team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, MIS, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 6–8 years of experience in production environment monitoring and Level‑1 and Level‑2 issue resolution for on‑prem and public‑cloud (preferably Google Cloud) infrastructure.
- Experience setting and documenting technology standards for a production support organization.
