The appointee will work under the general direction of the Head of Technology Support Services. He/She will work closely with librarians and others across the Libraries’ network. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high-quality and robust systems, which facilitate discovery of library resources and delivery of library services.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesApplicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree, a recognised professional qualification in librarianship (M.L.S. or equivalent), and at least 3 years of appropriate experience in academic or research institutions.
- Strong system administration skills together with good analytical and problem-solving skills for managing the University’s integrated library systems
- Hands‑on experience in administration of computer systems and programs, website application development, database management and construction.
The appointment will be made on fixed‑term full‑time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract‑end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.
