Freelance Swiss-French (FR-CH) SEO Translator & Localizer

We’re currently partnering with DANNEMANN Switzerland AG to strengthen the organic presence and customer engagement of their premium cigarillo brand, MOODS, across Switzerland’s distinct language regions. We are looking for an experienced freelance Swiss-French Translator and Localizer to translate and adapt creative marketing content directly from Swiss-German into Swiss-French.

This freelance role is ideal for professional localize rs and transcreators who don’t just translate word-for-word, but know how to adapt tone, style and SEO keywords specifically for Swiss-French (Suisse romande) cultural nuances, while staying within strict legal advertising guidelines.

This project is designed to completely move away from generic lifestyle filler and focus on the authentic, slow-paced stories behind the brand
. The content will reflect the character and premium lifestyle of our consumers, steering away from a “nicotine drive” or fast-paced habit, and focusing instead on concepts of relaxation, sharing and stylish, slow-enjoyment moments in familiar or cultural contexts.

Our production pipeline is driven by German-first creation, meaning you will receive the approved Swiss-German (DE-CH) blog posts and newsletters and transcreate them seamlessly for the French-speaking Swiss audience. The final copy must avoid forbidden descriptors (such as “mild”, “smooth” or “light”) and maintain a natural, premium flow that aims to raise digital subscriber engagement and list reactivation. We value professionals who can audit the source text and suggest local French-Swiss adaptations or community hooks.

• Translate, localize and transcreate 1 blog article (500–700 words) per month from Swiss-German into high-quality Swiss-French, adjusting local SEO metadata and titles.
• Localize 2 email newsletters per month from Swiss-German, ensuring call-to-actions are culturally punchy and effective for Swiss-French readers.
• Ensure absolute compliance with Swiss dark-market legal restrictions, adapting tobacco/sensory descriptions safely into French.
• Maintain the brand’s sophisticated, informal and open-minded tone of voice seamlessly in French.
• Collaborate closely with internal project managers and the editorial quality control team.

• Native-level French localized for Switzerland (FR-CH), with an excellent understanding of Swiss-German (DE) to read and interpret source texts accurately.
• Proven experience in creative translation, transcreation and localized SEO writing (metadata, headings, keyword integration).
• Solid experience adapting email marketing campaigns and newsletters for local audiences.
• Highly preferred: Prior experience localizing copy for highly regulated or premium sectors (tobacco, wine/spirits, cosmetics or luxury lifestyle).
• Deep understanding of the cultural differences and lifestyle preferences of the Swiss-French community.
• Detail-oriented, reliable under deadlines and comfortable with collaborative agency platforms.
