Logistics Operations Specialist

OBJECTIVE AND MAIN TASK OF THE FUNCTION

The Logistics Operations Specialist supports the Warehouse Manager and Director Procurement and Logistics in ensuring the efficient execution of logistics and warehouse operations.

It serves as a key link between management and operational teams, supporting in a first phase process stabilization and in a second phase the transition to continuous improvement.

This role is responsible for:

• Identifying and resolving operational issues
• Maintaining documentation updated
• Coordinating training activities for warehouse and logistics personnel
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives

• Assist the Warehouse Manager and Logistics Director in the daily execution of logistics and warehouse activities.
• Investigate operational issues, identify root causes, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor operational performance and elevate risks or issues affecting service, quality, safety, or efficiency.
• Support cross‑functional collaboration between warehouse and transportation teams.

• Develop, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, process maps, and operational documentation.
• Ensure procedures are clearly documented, accessible, and aligned with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support the implementation of best practices and standardized work methods across logistics operations.

• Coordinate and support onboarding and training activities for warehouse and logistics personnel.
• Deliver training sessions on operational procedures and best practices.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, safety, and cost reduction.
• Support Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence projects where applicable.
• Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist in implementing process enhancements and monitoring their effectiveness.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or advance knowledge of Lean Management.
• Special Knowledge:
  Previous experience in the medical device industry is preferred.
• Languages:
  
  German or French speaker, English a must have.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to document processes clearly and accurately.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Training and coaching capabilities.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP or similar platforms.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple organizational levels.

  Experience:
  
  3 to 5 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, supply chain or operational support roles.
• Experience in processing documentation, training coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience working within warehouse and distribution environments is preferred.
