The Inventory Control Analyst serves as the primary liaison between Avanos and its Third-Party Logistics (3PL) partner(s), providing oversight and governance of inventory control processes that support the safe, compliant, and efficient distribution of finished goods. This role is responsible for monitoring inventory accuracy, analyzing inventory performance, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and driving corrective actions to ensure KPI attainment and operational excellence.
The Inventory Control Analyst holds the 3PL accountable for inventory accuracy, transaction integrity, cycle count execution, inventory reconciliations, random sampling audits, and the timely resolution of inventory-related issues. The role leverages data analysis and cross-functional collaboration to identify process gaps, drive continuous improvement, support audit and compliance requirements, and ensure inventory integrity and distribution performance across the network.
The Inventory Control Analyst is expected to independently lead projects, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and influence stakeholders to enhance inventory control processes and operational performance. Responsibilities include inventory KPI analysis and reporting, inventory discrepancy root cause investigation and reconciliation, maintenance of audit and compliance documentation, oversight of inventory control activities performed by the 3PL, and support of damaged, expired, quarantined, and other non-saleable inventory disposition processes.
Job Role s And Responsibilities General Expectations and Accountabilities:- Clear understanding of Avanos’ Distribution-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and alignment of Avanos SOPs with 3PL Work Instructions
- Utilize SOPs and KPI requirements in holding DC performance to expected standards
- Analyze inventory accuracy KPIs and create action plans for DCs below target levels
- Facilitate standardized problem-solving methodologies
- Facilitate, track, and investigate inventory adjustments at the DCs
- Facilitate product recouping process, and disposition of scrapped/expired product
- Facilitate customer holds and releases
- Create and execute inventory accuracy and discrepancy checks
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and data management skills
- Provide on site support for all Random Sampling Audits
- Resolve EDI shipped discrepancies (EDI messaging from DC system to Avanos SAP system)
- Provide on site support for Instruction For Use (IFU) execution across Avanos functions
- Ability to collaborate on-site at the Distribution Center in Plainfield, IN (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)
- Knowledge and ability associated with a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, with course work and experience indicating excellent quantitative and analytical ability, and 4-8 years of related business experience.
