Our Manufacturing client in Northern/Central Indiana is looking to add a Maintenance Manager to their team. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance department to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all manufacturing equipment, facilities, and utilities. This role develops and implements preventive and predictive maintenance programs, manages maintenance personnel, controls budgets, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and support production goals.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance Operations- Develop, implement, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability to support production targets.
- Manage emergency repairs and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Oversee maintenance of building systems, utilities, and infrastructure.
- Establish and maintain spare parts inventory and procurement processes.
- Lead, coach, and develop maintenance supervisors, technicians, and support staff.
- Plan and schedule work assignments to ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and local regulatory requirements.
- Develop and enforce safe work practices and procedures.
- Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Develop and manage the maintenance department budget.
- Monitor maintenance costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Evaluate and manage relationships with external contractors and vendors.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), or reliability-centered maintenance strategies.
- Track and analyze KPIs such as downtime, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance costs.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
- 5–10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3–5 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience with CMMS systems required.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with PLCs and automated production equipment preferred.
- Understanding of predictive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management software.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinker with hands‑on leadership style.
