Essential Functions- Operate, service, and maintain heavy equipment (front‑end loaders, off‑road dump trucks, skid steers, man‑lift, fuel truck, water truck) to keep the plant clean and in production.
- Fuel, oil, grease equipment and understand the equipment's safety manual.
- Perform pre‑shift and end‑of‑shift checks and maintenance on equipment.
- Report orally and in writing as required, maintaining accurate records (activity reports, inventory reports, maintenance logs, etc.).
- Participate in general training, job‑specific training, and hazardous materials training; successfully complete required examinations.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and safety rules, including those governing safety around railroad tracks and equipment.
- Keep facilities and equipment clean and maintained.
- Recommend operational changes to improve safety, efficiency, and cost savings.
- Comply with yard rules, safety regulations, and PPE requirements.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork.
- Adhere to terminal processes and procedures for product transfers, quality assurance, safety, and operations.
- Complete required training and certifications necessary for safe and effective performance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Grow continuously in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
- Required:
High School diploma or equivalent.
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance.
- Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
- Read, write, and communicate in English; understand basic math.
- Knowledge of US Aggregates Safety and Operating principles.
- Complete applicable documentation, record‑keeping, and daily inventory.
- Participate in safety briefings, job briefings, and receive information from team members, management, or customers.
- Work within a team, take direction, and handle additional responsibilities as needed.
- Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends.
- Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently to get things done.
- Strong welding, torching, and maintenance skills preferred.
- Must be able to continuously stand or walk on level or uneven ground.
- Ascend/descend ladders, stairways, and incline catwalks.
- Bend, crouch, and/or kneel at the waist or knees.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Work outside most of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions; exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by weather.
