We are seeking an experienced Welder to support fabrication and welding operations in accordance with applicable military/customer requirements and AWS welding codes. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of producing high-quality welds with consistent documentation and inspection readiness.
Duties- Perform welding operations in accordance with AWS D1.1 and D1.2 requirements and internal procedures
- Set up, fit, tack, and weld components to drawing/specification requirements
- Complete required production and quality documentation (as applicable)
- Work with QC/inspectors to ensure welds meet acceptance criteria
- Operate welding equipment, cutting torches, plasma cutters and various electric and pneumatic hand tools associated with repair and fabrication of mechanical components and assemblies. Work with various types of engineering materials such as ferrous and non-ferrous metal alloys (i.e. aluminum, steels, brass)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current AWS certifications: D1.1 and D1.2 (verification required)
- 5+ years of professional welding experience in a production, fabrication, or industrial environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
- Proficiency using standard measuring tools (tape, calipers, squares) and performing fit-up
- Strong understanding of welding quality standards and ability to work to requirements
- Operate welding equipment, cutting torches, plasma cutters and various electric and pneumatic hand tools associated with repair and fabrication of mechanical components and assemblies. Work with various types of engineering materials such as ferrous and non-ferrous metal alloys (i.e. aluminum, steels, brass)
- Willingness and ability to comply with all facility safety rules and quality procedures
- Experience welding structural steel and aluminum assemblies.
- Familiarity with WPS/PQR, inspection hold points, and documentation practices
- Experience in regulated environments (defense, aerospace, shipbuilding, or similar)
- Forklift/overhead crane experience (as applicable)
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
