Shift/Hours:
7 p.m. to 7 a.m. 2-2-3 schedule
Week 1:
Work Monday–Tuesday, off Wednesday–Thursday, work Friday–Sunday
Week 2:
Off Monday–Tuesday, work Wednesday–Thursday, off Friday–Sunday
We are seeking a Filter Press Operator to join our team at our Merit Steel location in Kouts, Indiana. This role will be responsible for operating and maintaining a filter press that separates and removes impurities from our industrial process.
So, what will you be doing as a Filter Press Operator?- Responsible for start up and shut down of filter press system.
- Responsible for monitoring and operating sulfate and recovery tanks.
- Operate and maintain pumps.
- Promptly acknowledge, assess, and react to system/process alarms to ensure safety and continuity.
- Responsible for maintaining equipment, including cleaning the refrigeration coil, de-sludge, refill and charge acid tubs.
- Calibrate pH meters and log readings.
- Clean filter press and designated work areas.
- Perform all tasks assigned by Supervisor, prioritizing safety above all else.
- Must be organized and able to multi-task.
- Must exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Committed to following established procedures to eliminate preventable mistakes and maintain high standards.
- At least one-year operating machinery in a manufacturing environment is required.
