My client, a growing global manufacturing organization with multiple facilities and more than 1,000 employees worldwide
, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Plastics Manufacturing to support their expanding manufacturing operation in the Greater Indianapolis Area
. This role will work directly on the manufacturing floor to support production operations, troubleshoot equipment and processes, and help design and optimize injection molding manufacturing systems.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer – Plastics Manufacturing will support the design, development, and optimization of injection molding manufacturing processes and systems within a modern production facility. This role works closely with operations, production, and engineering teams to ensure efficient production, consistent product quality, and cost‑effective manufacturing performance.

This position plays a key role in building and improving manufacturing processes from the ground up
, providing hands‑on troubleshooting and technical support on the production floor while implementing process improvements that enhance reliability and productivity.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide hands‑on troubleshooting and technical support for manufacturing operations on the production floor
  • Design, develop, and optimize injection molding manufacturing processes and systems
  • Support daily production operations to ensure efficient production and product quality
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes from the ground up
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs
  • Collaborate with operations and production teams to improve equipment performance and process stability
  • Design tooling and manufacturing fixtures using CAD software
  • Support quality control and process validation initiatives
  • Prepare process documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing performance
What You’ll Bring
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within production environments
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations and production equipment
  • Strong interest in injection molding manufacturing processes (experience strongly preferred)
  • Hands‑on experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes on the production floor
  • Experience improving manufacturing processes, efficiency, and product quality
  • Proficiency with CAD software for tooling or fixture design
  • Familiarity with quality control methodologies and manufacturing quality systems
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally with operations teams
  • Associate’s degree required. Engineering degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
