Job SummaryThe Manager, Portfolio & ECM serves as the primary liaison between the organization and the client, driving strategy in partnership with senior leadership for portfolio growth and existing customer marketing. This role is pivotal in developing and nurturing client relationships, and ensures the needs of both the client and organization are met. They influence and partner with matrix teams on strategies that achieve portfolio objectives, and make recommendations on key portfolio opportunities.
This role also manages key metrics for core customer, attrition, retention, activation, and loyalty, ensuring the successful execution of all existing customer lifecycle marketing and customer journey strategies.
- Maintains a productive relationship with brand program owners. Demonstrates strong knowledge of brand partner business and industry. Communication liaison between the brand/internal partners. Leads brand partner meetings and presents strategic/executional content. Supports content development and presentation for brand partner business reviews. Identifies roadblocks and seeks to find solutions.
- (20%) - Influences and partners with cross‑functional teams in a matrixed leadership environment including Portfolio Analytics, Credit Management, Finance, Marketing, and Operations to achieve portfolio objectives.
- (20%) - Executes the strategy for all existing cardholder marketing. Manages campaign timelines & deliverables with brand/internal partners. Recognizes & manages campaign risks. Delivers campaign results/insights to brand partners; connects results to campaign strategy. Reviews/approves marketing collateral; ensures that best practices are met. Facilitates brand partner training on tools/process.
- (20%) - Applies understanding of P&L to recommend adjustments to portfolio and marketing initiatives to maintain program health. Monitors key metrics for core customer, spend, retention, reactivation, etc. Synthesizes trends and opportunities, works with matrix team to provide solutions. Manages contractual funds which includes processing invoices related to portfolio and marketing initiatives.
- (15%) - Partners with leader to develop annual portfolio KPIs to guide marketing strategy. Sets strategy for existing customer marketing and funding allocation. Ensures strategy meets needs of Bread Financial and brand partner. Presents marketing strategy to brand partner for approval, in partnership with marketing as applicable. Monitors campaign performance and alters strategy based on results.
- (15%) - Ensures ongoing integration into brand partner plan and multi‑tender loyalty program. Partners internally to support value proposition development. Executes changes to card program benefits across all marketing channels. Utilizes reporting tools for monitoring key metrics and identifying opportunities.

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, relevant work experience
- 5+ years experience in Account Management, Sales, Finance, Product Management, Project Management, Marketing, credit card portfolio management.
- 8+ years experience in relevant fields, including management experience in a multi‑level organization.

- Normal office environment. (Remote or Hybrid), 3 to 4 days per month are required in office if within 60 miles of a Bread Financial location. Periodic travel to brand partner offices and events. May require work outside of standard business hours.
