Responsibilities- The Medical Records Coordinator is responsible for the successful utilization of the electronic medical record (EMR). The role includes auditing, analysis, and training to ensure EMR effectiveness, and requires collaboration with physicians, office staff, nursing management and nursing staff.
- Attention to detail/Accuracy: Ensures the medical record is complete and accurate.
- Training: Ability to teach and motivate staff, vendors, and other key stakeholders to ensure the database and records comply with company, Federal, and State guidelines.
- Collaboration: Works with hospitals, physicians, nursing staff, and leadership to ensure that all records are obtained and maintained in the EMR.
- Supportive Presence: Create a comforting and engaging atmosphere for residents and staff.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum of one year in nursing management in the long-term care industry.
- Two years of professional nursing experience in long-term care, acute care, restorative care or geriatric nursing setting.
