The LHH is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a regulated manufacturing client located in greater Bloomington, IN. This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative quality organization supporting supplier performance, audit readiness, risk management, and continuous improvement across a complex vendor base. In this role, you will help strengthen a proactive supplier quality program, partner cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, quality, and operations, and drive measurable improvements in supplier compliance, CAPA completion, and overall quality performance.

The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $110K to $120K per year and includes comprehensive benefit and insurance plans, generous paid time off, and a 401(k) plan with a company match.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage and continuously improve the site’s supplier quality program.
  • Apply risk-based thinking across supplier qualification, monitoring, and performance activities.
  • Review purchasing specifications for new and revised materials or components.
  • Lead supplier investigations related to quality issues, discrepancies, and nonconformances.
  • Coordinate supplier change requests and evaluate potential quality or compliance impact.
  • Support onboarding, qualification, and approval of new suppliers.
  • Plan, support, and conduct supplier audits based on risk and business needs.
  • Partner with incoming quality teams to resolve supplier‑related inspection concerns.
  • Provide engineering support for supplier discrepancies, defects, and corrective actions.
  • Own supplier CAPA and SCAR activity to ensure timely closure.
  • Develop supplier scorecards, performance metrics, and trend reporting.
  • Present supplier quality data for management review and improvement planning.
  • Collaborate with corporate quality teams and other sites on supplier initiatives.
  • Support internal CAPAs, special projects, and quality system improvements.
  • Travel up to 30% for supplier audits, issue resolution, and supplier visits.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of Supplier Quality experience within regulated manufacturing is required.
  • Must have experience with supplier audits, supplier qualification, and supplier performance management.
  • Must have the ability to drive CAPA, SCAR, and root cause investigations.
  • Ideal candidates will have experience with ISO 13485 or comparable quality systems.
  • Ideal candidates will have Lead Auditor certification or formal audit training.
  • Ideal candidates will have experience supporting highly regulated environments.
  • Experience with risk assessments, quality metrics, and supplier score carding is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing several supplier priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, reporting tools, and quality documentation systems.
