Laboratory Technician in Cellular Immunology ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced laboratory technician to be responsible for the cell culture including quality control as well as the design, execution and analysis of in vitro assays that support our drug development platform. As Laboratory Technician in Cellular Immunology, you will play a key role in the experimental characterization of novel drug candidates, focusing on immune cell function and cytokine responses.

You will join a highly collaborative team working with IGI’s proprietary BEAT platform to treat haematological and solid malignancies. The position is based at our discovery site in Epalinges, Switzerland, within a fast‑paced and dynamic research environment that values initiative, scientific rigor, and teamwork.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

  • Culture of mammalian cell lines, including maintenance, amplification, banking, quality control and characterization of multiple cell lines.
  • Isolate and culture primary human cells (e.g. isolation of PBMCs, NK cells or T cells).
  • Perform and analyze immuno‑oncology in vitro assays for the characterization of novel biological candidates, including but not limited to:
    • Primary human cell‑based assays
    • Multicolor flow cytometry
    • Multiplex cytokine profiling
  • Analyze experimental data using appropriate software (e.g. Flow Jo, Graph Pad Prism, Excel, JMP) and report results in laboratory notebooks in a timely manner.
  • Write detailed protocols and contribute to internal documentation following company standards.
  • Present experimental results in English during regular team meetings.
  • Contribute to general laboratory maintenance, including equipment upkeep, reagent preparation, and ordering of supplies.
  • Comply with all safety and HSE guidelines.
  • Perform other relevant responsibilities as required to support project and departmental goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical degree in immunology, oncology, cellular biology, or a related life sciences field.
  • Hands‑on expertise with primary cell culture, flow cytometry (mandatory) and cytokine analyses.
  • Experience working in BSL‑2 facilities and isolating immune cells from human biological samples (e.g. PBMCs).
  • Proficiency in multicolor flow cytometry data analysis using Flow Jo or equivalent software.
  • Strong understanding of immunological principles and cell‑based assay development.
  • Prior experience in oncology, antibody discovery, or drug development within an industrial or translational research environment is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
