ResponsibilitiesMAJOR
JOB DUTIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assists with the production of all bakery items (parfaits, mousses, creams, fillings, cupcakes, cookies, gelatos and sorbets, pies, etc.) using kitchen machinery if necessary.
- Produce and finish daily orders from different outlets and maintaining par levels of food and ingredients at all the times.
- Prepare, decorate and bake a variety of pastries and desserts including breakfast pastries, breads and rolls, to manager’s level of expectation.
- Prepares celebration cakes including setting, filling and icing. Decorates cakes with designs by applying different basic techniques like piping, glazing, rolled fondant, etc.
- Basic knowledge of chocolate and sugar work (garnishes and decorations)
- Must know how to read, follow and execute recipes.
- Maintain the highest level of kitchen cleanliness and organization, following Health Department rules and regulations.(product rotation, labeling, monitoring temperature logs from freezer and coolers)
- Respond to work requests from other departments, on an as-needed basis.
- Follows and complies with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adheres to safe work practices.
- Operates and sanitizes all equipment in a safe and proper manner.
- Monitor all raw materials needed to maintain production of required volume.
- Must provide courteous and friendly service to all vendors and staff.
- Performs related work as requested.

RequirementsEXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years experience preferred in high volume bake shop, Knowledge in production, bread making, pastry, desserts and cake decorating.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED equivalent with some college level courses preferred.
SKILLS: Excellent communication skills. Ability to perform basic and intermediate math. Effective organizational skills. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff. Ability to present self in a professional, pleasant, confident and well groomed manner. Full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies and procedures. Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
