Job Description: Assistant Manager at City Brew Coffee

Position Title: Assistant Manager

Employment Type: Full-time/Part-time

Reports to: Store Manager

Responsible for assisting the Store Manager and/or Senior Assistant Manager with the daily planning, management and leadership of a City Brew Retail Store/Kiosk, including exceptional product quality, guest service, inventory control, cost management, and other duties assigned by the Senior Assistant Manager, Store Manager, Territory Manager, and/or the Corporate Office. Lead Shift Leaders and Baristas by motivating, coaching, and strengthening operations and customer service delivery.

Reports directly to the Senior Assistant Manager and Store Manager, and as appropriate, the Territory Manager and/or the Corporate Office.

• Assist Senior Assistant Manager and Store Manager with hiring, training, scheduling and management of all employees to comply with the budgeted payroll plan and City Brew standards.
• Promote and develop the culture and vision of City Brew within the Store.
• Lead store personnel by example with a customer-first attitude and presence.
• Work during high-capacity business hours with confidence and a calm demeanor, modeling expectations for staff.
• Utilize resources provided by Store Managers, Territory Managers, and Corporate Office to maintain inventory levels and address maintenance issues.
• Review operational reports to identify trends in sales, inventory, cash management, payroll, and staffing.
• Elicit customer feedback, listen and respond, and effectively address concerns.
• Ensure staffing levels meet, but do not exceed, budgeted expectations unless necessary.
• Communicate ideas, concerns, and recommendations for improvement on operations, including development and training of Shift Supervisors and Baristas.
• Demonstrate and oversee delivery of excellent guest service and product quality.
• Work with management to ensure strict control of cash, including regular audits of all cash sources.
• Maintain high standards and cleanliness of the store, parking areas, and surroundings.
• Maintain internal inventory systems to balance inventory levels with a fully stocked store and minimize shortages.
• Support marketing initiatives and proper placement of POP materials; suggest new marketing applications.
• Monitor compliance of City Brew policies, programs, and procedures within the store/kiosk.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management and corporate offices as applicable.
• Provide input regarding application of Company policy and procedure in the store/kiosk.
• Maintain close working relationships with senior management and participate in training related to employee management, hiring and retention, discipline, and performance evaluation.
• Assist with development and implementation of employee recognition programs as directed.
• Perform other tasks as required and assigned by senior management or corporate office.

Excellent in employee and customer relations; strong multi-tasking ability; proven leadership; flexible to varying hours; management experience or willingness to develop management experience; general computer knowledge; interest in coffee and coffee-related products; knowledge of service industry management and operations; ability to establish relationships with managers and staff; ability to prioritize multiple projects; maintain confidentiality; analyze information and present recommendations effectively; assist with establishing and monitoring operational and clerical procedures for store/kiosk management.

Training and experience suitable for Assistant Management position at store/kiosk level.

Must be able to stand for extended periods, maintain endurance during shifts, lift and carry store/kiosk supplies and equipment, and work varying hours of operation.
