Maintenance Electrician

Job Purpose

Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of existing electrical system using electrical, mechanical and processing skills. The Maintenance Electrician will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all electrical equipment and building.

• Follows all established safety and good manufacturing practices (GMP) for area assigned, company policies and procedures and recognized practices.
• Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
• Installs, examines, replaces, or repairs electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber‑optic and coaxial cable assemblies, and other electrical components.
• Tests electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Maintains, repairs, installs, and tests switch gear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors.
• Maintains, repairs, tests, and installs electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
• Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs industrial control systems and related devices including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), distributed control systems, Servos, Drives and Robotic Controllers.
• Conducts preventive maintenance programs and keeps accurate maintenance records.
• May install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices as required.
• Assist and train production employees in proper operation and maintenance of machinery.

• Two‑year associate’s degree in electrical related field and other technical certifications and training applicable to industrial maintenance electrical system in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 4‑5 years industrial maintenance electrician experience.
• Sense of urgency, accountability, business ethics, professionalism, self‑motivation and desire to improve the business.

• Climbing: ascending or descending ladders, stairs and equipment using feet, legs and/or hands and arms.
• Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, fingering, talking, hearing, repetitive motion, vision, and exertion (medium work, up to 50lbs occasionally, 20lbs frequently, 10lbs constantly).

• Subject to extreme heat (over 100°F for periods >1hr), noise, vibrations, moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation, oils, and cutting fluids.
