Seasonal Bicycle Mechanic
Spring (April/May) – Mid August or Labor Day 16–40 Hours Per Week | Reports to Service ManagerWe are hiring an experienced bicycle mechanic for the spring and summer season.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precise mechanical work, enjoys a fast-paced shop environment, and wants consistent, structured hours during peak riding season.
Scheduling is flexible within the seasonal window — from two 8-hour shifts per week up to a full 5-day schedule, depending on availability and shop needs.
Experience Required- 1–2 years of bicycle repair experience
- Experience in a reputable bicycle shop strongly preferred
- Must ride bicycles and understand the rider experience
This is not an entry-level position. You should be comfortable completing standard service work independently.
Core Responsibilities- Complete basic tune-ups efficiently and accurately
- Perform quick repairs and safety check overs
- Build new bicycles to manufacturer specifications
- Perform final quality checks on all new bike builds before delivery
- Install accessories including racks, lights, computers, child seats, and related components
- Inspect rental fleet bikes to ensure safety and readiness
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service area
- Communicate clearly with the Service Manager regarding workflow, timelines, and parts needs
You will be expected to balance efficiency with high mechanical standards, especially during peak summer volume.
Opportunities for Advanced WorkMechanics with higher levels of experience may have opportunities to take on more complex repairs, including advanced drivetrain work, hydraulic brake service, suspension-related service, and deeper diagnostic troubleshooting.
Level of responsibility will be matched to demonstrated skill, experience, and consistency.
