** Job Description
** An Earthwork Operator is responsible for operating heavy construction equipment to perform grading, excavation, and material placement in accordance with project specifications. This position requires skill, precision, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity on construction or rail/industrial job sites. Responsible for operating heavy equipment to support rail track construction projects.
** Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*** Operate heavy equipment such as motor graders, bulldozers, loaders, excavators, and other grading equipment safely and efficiently
* Perform fine and rough grading according to plans, specifications, and supervisor direction
* Read and interpret grade stakes, blueprints, and job specifications
* Maintain proper slopes, drainage, and elevations
* Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete required documentation
* Perform basic equipment maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, minor adjustments)
* Communicate effectively with supervisors, ground personnel, and other operators
* Follow all company policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety requirements
* Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions immediately
* Assist with other job site duties as assigned when not operating equipment

* QUALIFICATIONS:

* High school diploma or GED preferred
* Minimum 2-4 years of experience operating heavy grading equipment
* Proven ability to operate equipment safely and accurately
* Knowledge of construction site safety practices and regulations
* Ability to read and understand grade stakes, plans, and drawings
* Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
* Previous experience with rail construction equipment a plus.
