Application Support Engineer COBOL​/Informix GL

Role Overview

As a Software Engineering Technical Specialist, you will develop solutions, support, and maintain applications built on Micro Focus Cobol and Informix 4GL.

• System Enhancement: Analyse and modify existing COBOL / Informix 4GL programs to meet new business requirements, regulatory changes, and performance goals.
• Technical Support: Provide 2nd and 3rd level production support for critical business applications, performing root cause analysis, and implementing timely fixes.
• Integration: Develop and maintain interfaces to integrate COBOL/Informix 4GL applications with modern programming languages and third-party systems.
• Modernization: Participate in projects to re-host or re-platform legacy mainframe workloads to distributed or cloud environments.

• Expert proficiency in Cobol & Informix 4GL programming language.
• Strong hands‑on experience in applications support and enhancements.
• Proficiency with database technologies such as Informix and strong skills in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
