Aboutthis role
We are seeking a motivated, results-oriented college student to join our team for the summer of 2024. The Carrier internship experience offers interns an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths in efforts to assist Carrier in achieving its business strategy.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Controls Engineering Intern, you will gain experience to include, but is not limited to, activities and tasks listed below:
- Develop embedded software in support of Carrier's wall controls and thermostats.
- Develop embedded software in support of Carrier's HVAC equipment control systems.
- Develop design documentation (sequence diagram, state charts, etc.) for embedded software.
- Understands the software development life cycle and processes using model-based development
- Works effectively with various engineering functions/disciplines: systems, hardware, validation/reliability, and manufacturing
- Demonstrates the ability to work within a project team
- Develops and executes unit test cases and functional test cases
- Completes prototype and test software development
- Writes specifications and test plans
- Participates in software inspections and design reviews
- Completes systems integration and software requirements
- Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- 3.0 or higher GPA
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
- Relevant coursework or previous internships are preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-driven and proactive
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Team player and willing to collaborate with others on projects
