Internship computational geometry and computer graphics development
Do you get excited about translating complex mathematical concepts into 3D geometries? Do you have experience with computer graphics, mesh and LiDAR?
This internship at Bim Buildings/Scan Plan might just be the best place for you!
What are you going to do?At Bim Buildings/Scan Plan we develop solutions for converting scans of buildings' interiors to geometries (scan-to-geometry). The scans are captured by lidar scanners. The data is point clouds (lidar) and images. Our workflows convert this data to meaningful geometries known as Building Information Models (BIM).
You will work with our data scientists to convert the output of AI models to parametric 3D models. You use mesh and point clouds and reconstruct polyhedrons and Breps. Good understanding in geometry modeling and numerical optimization techniques is necessary. You like to wear different hats in a startup environment. You're eager to document the progress to share advancements in your work to colleagues and other interested parties.
What We Offer YouWe want you to be excited to come to work with us every day. Excellent primary and secondary employment conditions are of course also part of this.
Some of the things you can expect:
- More than a competitive internship compensation (because who decides what's a competitive compensation?)
- Learning from each other, but also by following training and courses (and most importantly, working on the job!)
- A pleasant, well-equipped workspace (with good coffee or tea of course!)
- The best colleagues and a great working atmosphere (just ask anyone sitting at the office with you)
- Breakfast and lunch at the office included (don't forget to tell us what you prefer on your sandwich!)
We are looking for a talented computer graphics intern to join our small team full- or part-time in Zwolle. The ideal candidate has a background in computational geometry, computer graphics, computer vision and lidar, as well as a passion for learning and exploring new technologies. You have graduated or are at the final stage of your studies.
Requirements- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer graphics, computer science, civil engineering, geoscience or a related field
- Experience in Python and C++
- Experience with computational geometry libraries: CGAL, Grasshopper3D, VTK, Pyvista
- Familiar with lidar and mesh processing tools and algorithms: open3d, pcl, meshlab
- Familiar with Autodesk Revit, Dynamo, Rhino3D, Unity as well as Linux OS
- Background in image processing, computer vision and mixed reality is a plus
- You are a EU citizen or have a work permit in The Netherlands
- You enjoy working together in a dynamic team in which we challenge each other to improve
- Open to innovation and rethinking solutions
- We work hybrid (remote and Zwolle office)
- Table tennis or darts experience is a plus.
You will be working in a young team with different development skill sets. A nice compact group of people wo are working together and a pleasant working atmosphere are number one. We have a flat organizational structure with short, direct lines of communication. Bim Buildings/Scan Plan is ambitious, a fan of digital and works for well-known clients.
