Receiver - Temporary Causal

Receiving Clerk

In this role you will be:

• Receive and inspect all incoming shipments for quantity, quality, and accuracy against packing slips and purchase orders.
• Check for damaged, expired, or incorrect items and report discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
• Unload deliveries safely using material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks.
• Accurately record all received goods in the hospital's materials management or ERP system (e.g., Lawson, People Soft, SAP).
• Label packages with appropriate barcodes, dates, or department designations.
• Maintain organized records of receipts, discrepancies, and returned goods.
• Route deliveries to the correct departments or storage areas promptly.
• Coordinate with inventory clerks, couriers, or department staff for delivery schedules and urgent needs.
• Communicate with vendors and purchasing staff regarding delivery schedules and issues.
• Assist in storing received items in designated stock areas, refrigerators, or freezers, ensuring proper rotation (FIFO).
• Ensure receiving areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety and infection control policies.
• Follow hospital protocols related to handling hazardous materials, sterile supplies, and regulated products.
• Comply with all OSHA, Joint Commission, and HIPAA regulations relevant to materials handling.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required

Qualifications:

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED
• Experience:
  
  1 year of receiving, warehouse, or shipping/receiving experience preferred
• Licensure/Certification: N/A
