Senior Accountant

Overview

Senior Accountant (Contract) –

Location:

On-site in Indianapolis;
Duration: 4-6 months;

Schedule:

Full-time (40 hours/week).

Position Overview:

Our client is in need of a strong Senior Accountant on an interim basis to support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening processes, and supporting the accounting team during a period of transition.

• Perform and review month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations

• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

• Support internal and external audit requests

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies

• Assist with process improvements, and documentation of SOPs as needed

• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, AP/AR, and operational teams

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting

• Hands-on experience with month-end close and financial reporting

• Proficiency in ERP systems (Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar)

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)

• Prior contract or consulting experience a plus
