Role Description The Manufacturing Plant Controller is a full-time, on-site position located in Indianapolis, IN. This role oversees the plant’s financial operations, including preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing cost accounting activities, and monitoring budgets and forecasts. The Plant Controller analyzes production costs, variances, and margins to support pricing decisions and operational improvements. Daily responsibilities include tracking fixed assets, supporting inventory valuation, coordinating with operations and leadership on financial performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
The role also involves developing reports and metrics, providing analytical insights, and participating in process improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability.
Qualifications
- Strong finance and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Experience with financial statements and general accounting practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Experience managing and tracking fixed assets, capital expenditures, and depreciation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling).
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and support operational decision-making.
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing settings and familiarity with drilling or heavy equipment industries is beneficial.
