LHH is assisting our long time transportation and logistics client in their search for a qualified Accounts Payable Manager to add to their growing team. The AP Manager is responsible for overseeing all accounts payable functions, including carrier payments, vendor invoice processing, and payment controls. This role ensures timely and accurate payments while maintaining compliance with company policies and supporting month-end close activities.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage daily AP operations and supervise 5 full-time and up to 5 seasonal part-time staff.
  • Ensure timely processing of carrier and vendor invoices.
  • Monitor AP aging and prioritize payments based on cash flow.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
  • Maintain vendor records and 1099 reporting.
  • Monitor system for duplicate payments and fraudulent invoice activity.
  • Optimize AP workflows through automation.
  • Develop SOP and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in month-end close activity, ensuring AP aging is reconciled to GL and monitored for accuracy.
Skills &

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years’ Accounts Payable Manager experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Must be proficient in excel and other MS Office products.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred (Sage Intacct a plus).
  • Ability to implement and enforce policy in a respectful and customer-service oriented manner.
  • Experience documenting and improving processes and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
