CIRI's regional boundaries roughly follow the traditional Dena'ina territory of Southcentral Alaska. This position is based in Anchorage, AK but offers a fully remote schedule for candidates who live outside of Alaska. Remote employees may be required to travel to the corporate office on a regular schedule.

General Function

In alignment with CIRI's mission and values, the Senior Manager, Accounting is responsible for ensuring accurate internal and external financial reporting from subsidiaries and investments in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) across multiple industry segments. This role will manage accounting activities, implement accounting policies, procedures and controls in a shared service environment with a focus on customer service and meeting operational needs of CIRI's industry segments.

Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)

Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are property recorded, review journal entries, account balance reconciliation and report preparation.

Oversee the integration of accounting activities of the various divisions and subsidiaries into CIRI's accounting systems, ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence with GAAP, FAR, and CAS.

Manage complex monthly consolidating financial statements across multiple industries for CIRI, CST and their subsidiaries.

Act as the subject-matter-expert responsible for managing and maintaining the general ledger system and all related financial reporting and budgeting tools and software

Participate in the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies with a focus on efficient , effective, and continuous improvement.

Oversee the onboarding of newly acquired entities into the financial reporting and control structure.

Provide implementation and post implementation leadership for accounting software, ensuring CIRI financial reporting requirements are met. Provide best practices support to all users of the tool organization wide.

Lead the annual budget compilation, work closely with all divisions and subsidiaries including written analysis.

Lead the annual financial audit process of CIRI, CST and their subsidiaries. Review schedules and work papers, compile data for audited financial statements, footnotes and management discussion and analysis.

Provide financial analysis and research support to operating and administrative departments.

Assist in research, analysis and reporting changes in GAAP, FAR, and CAS to the accounting management team.

Oversee the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) Section 7(i) report accounting requirements to ensure appropriate accounting, reporting and audit issuance.
