Receptionist – High School Main Office (SHS) Position PurposeThis position is responsible for greeting and directing visitors. It also responds to inquiries from staff, the public, parents, students, etc. by providing requested information and/or referral to other parties.
Essential Functions- Answers all incoming phone calls and directs to appropriate individuals or departments.
- Sorts all incoming interoffice mail and USPS mail.
- Organizes deliveries from Fed Ex, UPS, Amazon, etc. and delivers items to classrooms.
- Assists other secretaries with projects.
- Completes all work permits.
- Tracks return mail and works with the Social Worker to determine residency status.
- Updates student addresses with proper documentation.
- Coordinates student office workers including tracking attendance, appropriate behavior and tasks to be completed.
- Greets all visitors in a kind and professional manner and directs them to their locations.
- Troubleshoots concerns such as copier issues, teacher questions and disgruntled guests.
- Makes passes and forms for use in the office, by teachers and other staff members.
- Assists Guidance department and treasurer with mailings.
- Prints faxes and distributes.
- Tracks attendance for student office workers.
- Updates staff mailboxes.
- Assists with preparing graduation packets.
- Assists with Administration offices as requested and needed.
- Assists Assistant Principal in preparing the weekly newsletter.
- Manages and organizes calendars for Main Office and Student Services Conference Room.
Use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copier and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel RequirementsTravel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Pay Rate$15.75 per hour.
Work ScheduleHigh School 8.0 hours per day 200 days per year
