Position Summary
The Staffing Coordinator/Scheduler is responsible for maintaining adequate staff for the facility. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions
Assists in recruiting, selection, and training of potential employees and ensures all staffing needs are metCoordinates, monitors, and adjusts schedules for nursing departments as required, including daily, weekly, and monthly, also covering vacation and holidaysRecommends to the Administrator the number and level of personnel to be employedAssists in determining nursing staff, evaluates employee performance to DON and Administrator concerning wage and salary adjustments, hiring, terminations, and transfersChecks application and references of prospective employees and arranges for interviewsAttends departmental meetings, in-services, educational meeting, and on-the-job trainingEnsures that appropriate training records are maintained for nursing staffMaintains job applications for personnel eligible to work in the facility (including job applications, resumes, reference checksMaintains confidentiality of all pertinent personnel information in accordance with the Privacy Act, as well as facility policies and proceduresMaintains nursing schedules as appropriateStays well-informed of staffing needs as census increases or decreasesAssists in hiring personnel in accordance with established hiring practicesOther related duties as assigned by Administrator/Director of NursingOn‑Call RotationRequirements
