The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for supporting regulatory compliance operations for Huber Winery, Starlight Distillery, and affiliated entities. This position manages federal and state licensing, excise tax reporting, operational filings, outbound market compliance, and wholesale order coordination to ensure all business activities remain compliant with applicable alcohol beverage laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, capable of managing recurring deadlines, and comfortable working with regulatory agencies, reporting systems, and internal departments in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Licensing & Regulatory Compliance
  • Manage and renew all Indiana state licenses for Starlight Winery & Spirits, Huber Orchards, Inc., GT Inc. of Clark County
  • Maintain all required licenses and registrations for outbound distribution markets and Direct-to-Consumer (DtC) eligible states
  • Complete annual license renewals and required brand renewals in applicable states
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local alcohol beverage regulations
Federal Reporting
  • Manage and file all federal operational reports, including monthly production, storage, and processing reports for Starlight Distillery using Dx5 software
  • Quarterly Wine Premises Operations Reports for Huber Winery
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all federal reporting activities
Excise Tax Management
  • Record, file, and pay all Indiana state excise taxes on a monthly basis for Starlight Distillery, Huber Winery, Starlight Wine & Spirits
  • Record, file, and pay all federal excise taxes, including semi-monthly filings for Starlight Distillery and quarterly filings for Huber Winery
  • Maintain accurate tax records and ensure all deadlines are met
State Reporting & Direct-to-Consumer Compliance
  • Manage and file all monthly, quarterly, and annual state compliance reports
  • Utilize Ship Compliant to process and maintain reporting requirements
  • Enter and maintain accurate compliance data within Ship Compliant prior to report processing
Wholesale & Distribution Coordination
  • Manage and process wholesale purchase orders for outbound distribution markets
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external distributors to ensure accurate and timely order processing
Control State & Product Registration Management
  • Submit applications and obtain required control state product codes for products sold in controlled markets:
    Ohio, Iowa, Mississippi, Alabama
  • Submit and maintain NABCA code registrations as required for control state distribution
Transfer-In-Bond (TIB) Administration
  • Submit and manage all Transfer-In-Bond paperwork for inbound and outbound shipments
  • Coordinate TTB approvals for all in-bond shipments, including bulk and barrel shipments
  • Ensure all shipment documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with federal regulations
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Compliance, Supply Chain, or related field preferred. High School Diploma is required.
  • Previous experience in alcohol beverage compliance, regulatory reporting, accounting, logistics, or administrative operations preferred.
  • Experience with TTB regulations, excise tax reporting, or alcohol beverage compliance strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Ship Compliant, Dx5, or similar compliance/reporting systems is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Environment

The compliance coordinator position is primarily an office-based position. Extended periods of computer or desk work are expected.

This position generally operates during standard business hours. Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Additional duties and hours may be required based on business needs.
