Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Location: Indianapolis
Position Overview
Manage and monitor the company's compliance with global trade regulations, including export controls, customs regulations, sanctions, and embargoes; stay updated on relevant trade compliance laws and regulations and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Conduct audits and assessments to identify risk areas and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop, implement and improve trade compliance policies and procedures.
- Oversee the classification of products by ensuring accurate tariff codes, export controls, and partner government agencies (PGA) information.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on trade compliance, providing training and guidance to employees across the organization.
- Handle import and export licensing processes, including applications, renewals, and record keeping.
- Effectively communicate with external partners such as customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth and compliant movement of goods.
- Monitor and investigate potential violations of trade compliance regulations and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- BS or BA degree and at least 5 years in an import/export position or 3 years with a Masters.
- Knowledge of global trade regulations, including export controls, customs regulations, and sanctions.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
- Experience in trade compliance, preferably in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
- Professional certifications in trade compliance (e.g., Licensed Customs Broker).
- Detailed knowledge of Roche Diagnostics products and parts thereof.
- Familiarity with trade compliance software and tools.
- Salary range: $75,000 to $139,400, determined by experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
- Discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.
- Hybrid model: three days in the office and two days at home.
